RESULTS FOR :
June 23, 2015
We hope summer is off to a fantastic start!
May was busy for us! We hosted our peers from the Minneapolis Saint Paul Chapter of the International Society of Special Event Planners, or ISES at Solar Arts. This is the group that gave us the Star Award earlier this year. Our own Jenny and Heidi's husband Chank created the "Freaking Awesome" sign that set the tone for the entire event. You can read about the party and see pictures on the ISES MSP Facebook page.
Art-A-Whirl was nutty and fun thanks to the Beer Garden we co-hosted with Dangerous Man and a wedding at Solar Arts. Speaking of Northeast's biggest weekend, if you have any thoughts about Art-A-Whirl you want to share with the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), they’re asking people to fill out a short survey.
Boss Lady Amy’s Girls on the Run team completed their 5K at the end of May and now she’s working on their 2016 fundraiser, to be held again at Solar Arts. She also facilitated a special Chowgirls Sponsorship for the Northern Spark 2015 Launch Party and Fundraiser at Mill City Museum on June 13. It was fantastic to be a part of this unique all-night art event showcasing our exciting art scene. The Star Tribune posted a great visual recap of the evening if you’re curious!
Boss Lady Heidi has been working on the Cultivate Northeast garden— this little gem is shared by a few others and is already producing greens and herbs. At the end of May, Heidi celebrated with the rest of the board of the Northeast Farmers Market when they opened for the season with the Foodie 4 Mile run, which was a success again this year.
In closing, let it be known that the fine folks who work in our kitchen can do more than prepare delicious approachable fare -- they are also quite photogenic as proven by their participation in a shoot with our friends Brett Dorian Artistry and Flutter Boutique.
Enjoy the long evenings and warm days!
Heidi and Amy

Producer Spotlight - Open Arms Farm
We don't source from Open Arms Farm, but this local producer deserves a little light. Open Arms provides nutritious meals to people with life-threatening diseases. The organization sources vegetables and herbs from their urban community garden, or farm, in St. Paul. The garden engages volunteers and the community in agricultural issues and food justice while providing the best nourishment possible to clients and their families.
Chowgirls Community - Northeast Minneapolis
We love Northeast, which is why we were absolutely thrilled to be the Business Ambassador for the Celebrate Northeast Parade on Tuesday, June 16. We were proud to celebrate with our whole corner of Minneapolis. This community rocks and we are grateful to be a part of it.
